Assessment Task Number 1 (October 19, 2010)

Hello...
Your first assessment task is to research and prepare a presentation on a country of your choice. You should present the country to the rest of the class.
Try to find out about the~
  • Culture
  • People
  • Religion
  • Places to see...
  • Food and Drink
  • Geography and anything else that you want to talk about.
You should use the basic structure of an informative speech, with an introduction, body and conclusion.

Timing: You have 15 minutes of presentation time...

Presentation:
  • Remember that a presentation has 3 elements: Physical message, Visual message and the Story message... This is probably what you learned in speech class.
  • Presentations should engage the audience (be interesting and include the audience in some kind of activity)
  • You can use the projector to show things... So think about how to use the projector to effectively add to your presentation (visual message)
Grading:
  • A - Highly informative and very well researched presentation that fully engages the audience. Presentation is logical and very understandable.
  • B- Informative and well researched presentation that engages the audience. Presentation is logical most of the time and mostly understandable.
  • C- Good presentation that engages the audience some of the time. Presentation needs a little work.
  • D- Basic presentation of the facts, but very limited. Presentation needs a lot of work.
  • S - Presentation of some things related to topic. Hard to understand.
  • NP - Does not satisfy the requirements of a passing grade.
Thank you and good luck...
Steven Mondy
